Actually, that is the January 13th. poll, as the coaches poll comes out on Tuesday, for the women. Tomorrrow's poll should see a rise for our Lobo's

I noticed Elaine Elliot is the MWC voting member. It raises two questions:
--How can a coach vote in these polls since they can never aford the time to actually look at teams other than their opponents?
--How does she think about voting for other MWC teams?

Sometime I would love to have a serious no-emotion discussion with her about those things. I think it would be fascinating.

I think it is a known fact that Elaine is not a Lobo fan. She is so green with envy over our fan base and attendence that I would not be surprised if she did put others ahead of us. You would think however, since the Pit turned into a home game when they made their run to the final 4 and lost to Maryland (the eventual national champs) that she would have a soft spot in her heart for us.

Common sense would dictate that whatever team from your conference is deserving of a vote would get it from a coach in that conference. Not voting for a legitimate Top 25 contender would be cutting off one's nose to spite their face.

Having said that, she of the new tournament bracket (a.k.a. she of the "don't vote for Flan for COY" episode) may not think along those lines.

Upon further review, I found evidence that one of the individuals pictured above was found to have a heart TWO SIZES TOO SMALL.

As for the other, there is no evidence that exists substantiating that there is even a heart there to begin with, let alone what size it is.

Kind of what Moondancer was saying, come to think of it. Think of my additions as visual stimulation for poor readers.

I don't know; she seems able to mesmerize a majority of the conference on a regular basis. Obviously there are pleanty who do not see the resemblance.

Hey, for the record, I picked'em 9th. OK, so it was out of desire, not reality, but I would settle for anything close! ;-)

Truthfully, I am not sure how much she hates us, or how jealous she is of the program. I know much has been made over it, so there is probably something there. I have also heard she doesn't like Flan cause he didn't come through the proper coaching ranks, making the jump from high school to college. Regardless, her teams have done a lot for the conference, and I like beating her more than any other team. It seems there is a lot of respect from every other team in conference now, maybe just not from the utah staff, I don't know.

I don't get so caught up in the polls anymore either. I mean, we need to be there, but more important that we stay there. It is big for the NCAA seeding. It is big for recruiting. Unfortunately, we are not high enough in the polls to get/stay there if we drop a game. So at this point, I think our focus must remain on each game, each opponent, each possession, and the girls have to give everything they have, and perhaps a little more on the road. I want a nice seed and a victory or two in the NCAA tourney, but we will never get there if that is where our focus is. I am sure I could have stated that better, but hopefully you get the drift.

To add to this point --- she was also peeved about his hiring because he was replacing a former FEMALE assistant of hers who couldn't cut the mustard as the HC at UNM. In a way, UNM was knocking her; not only was her former assistant not good enough to be the HC @ UNM but UNM felt that a MALE HIGH SCHOOL coach could do better. And to top it off, that high school coach had the audacity to prove UNM right!!! EmotWOW

It's that QUEEN BEE attitude of hers.....She wanted her beehive (U. of Utah) to be the palace of the conference and have all her little minions (former assistants like Moe, Joe Legerski, etc) as her Royal court princesses scattered about the MWC kingdom.
