Mountain West Player Of The Year Is..

    First Post Banner
Not Tony D. I figured he was a long shot no matter how you sliced it but it still hurts. He deserved it.

Did Neville win it outright, or did he share it with "Lee"?

I didnt ask. I all I cared is if Tony won. I would assume its Nevil outright.

Yeah. He had a great conference season and showed everyone that he can be "the man".

That's BS! More motivation for the Lobos, not that they need it.

Obviously Neville was going to get the nod, but as long as Tony doesn't get snubbed of all MWC first team I'll be ok.

Tony D had an uphill battle. He really didn't show up on 'radar' until the latter part of the season.

No matter, every Lobo fan knows what Tony did for this team. He led by action and example and lifted this team to a conference championship. From what I know of Tony D. the only award he cares about is a MWC tourney championship and a ticket to the big dance.

    Go Lobos!!!

I would have loved to see Tony win POY or co-POY but I do believe that Nevill deserved the award. Tony has to be on the 1st team though or else that's just BS. Thanks for the news RPS.

That's my feeling as well. I was guessing due to Nevill's shot blocking and rebounds he would get it. If Tony's on the first team, I'm OK with it, though Tony D. is still my player of the year.

Too bad Tony didn't get POY. Maybe he'll come out with a chip on his shoulder and score 38 in the 1st round.

Tony will pull a "Dionne Marsh" and get Tourney MVP when the Lobos win it all. Best revenge is winning.

He lost because his votes were split. Half voted for Tony Danridge, the other half voted for Tony "Dandridge."

Neither UNM or Utah are in the positions they are in without Tony or Neville so it should have been shared but then there's the arguement that COY could have been shared also. So in my opinion one battle was won and one was lost. Tony's lead by example and team first attitude is what's most important. We would have never seen Tony shoving teammates away ala Neville in the Pit. Now if there is a snub by Tony on the first team then there is a problem with the voting and the awards are a joke.
