Lobos go down to .500 after loss to Colorado State

Commentators said the game was “an absolute clinic against the zone.” Unfortunately for New Mexico, it was the Lobo zone they were referring to.

The Lobos fell 91-76 to the Colorado State Rams on the road on Saturday afternoon. With this result, New Mexico is .500 as it drops to an 8-8 overall record and 2-2 in the Mountain West. Rebels hand Lobos first conference loss of the season

New Mexico head coach Paul Weir did not stay in the locker room very long after his team lost 80-69 to UNLV. When asked about what he told his players, he gave a message that was simple and to the point.

Anthony Mathis: MW Player of the Week

Senior guard Anthony Mathis was named the Mountain West Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 27 points and tying his own career-best of six rebounds against the then-No. 5/6 Nevada. The Lobos handed the Wolf Pack its first loss of the season on Saturday.

This is the first time Mathis has received this honor.
