When it comes to baseball, the game isn’t over until it’s really over. The Lobos showed resilience and pulled a 5-4 victory over Arizona on Wednesday after collecting three runs in the ninth inning. The University of New Mexico baseball team went 3-1 during its home opener weekend against Niagara University. The scheduled changed a couple times due to weather but the teams still managed to fit all four games in one weekend.

New Mexico traveled to Surprise, Ariz. to open its season with the College Baseball Classic. The Lobos are 2-2 after their opening weekend.
Jared Mang got the Mountain West Player of the Week honor, while Nathaniel Garley was named Pitcher of the Week.
While winter hasn’t left yet, baseball is ready to come back. The University of New Mexico baseball team is set to begin its 2019 season on Feb. 15 as the Lobos travel to Arizona for a tournament that kicks off with the Oregon State Beavers, the 2018 National Champions.
