Birmingham earns 1,200th career win

The Lobos finished their last home series of the 2019 season with a 3-2 victory against the UNLV Rebels on Sunday. This became head coach Ray Birmingham’s 1,200th college career win. The result was even more special as it was Senior Day for six players, and it happened on the same weekend the team honored Jackson Weller, a Lobo who passed away on May 4.

The Lobo community got together on Saturday to honor Jackson Weller before New Mexico started its last home series of the 2019 season.

Weller passed away on May 4 after being shot outside a club in the Nob Hill area in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A couple moms of the Lobo baseball players were texting each other and decided they wanted to organize something special. Continue reading “Community comes together to honor Jackson Weller”
