One more game remains until the 2019 NCAA National Champion is crowned. The Virginia Cavaliers and the Texas Tech Red Raiders were the two teams that survived the Final Four round and are set to face on Monday night.

Here’s a quick note on New Mexico ties: There are a couple former University of New Mexico employees who are associated with the schools competing. Texas Tech has Drew W. Ingraham (Associate AD for Marketing & Communications) and Gene Canal (Assistant Athletics Director/Promotions & Fan Engagement). Virginia has Joe Gehling (Director of Ticket Sales & Service).

Mountain West MBB: Musselman leaves Nevada

Nevada Wolf Pack head coach Eric Musselman has left the program to join the Arkansas Razorbacks. The announcement officially happened on Sunday.

“These past four years at University of Nevada have been unforgettable. Thank you Northern Nevada and Wolf Pack nation!” the coach said on Twitter.

Pro basketball in Albuquerque is focused on community and local flavor

The Lobos are not dancing but there is still plenty of New Mexico basketball talent to watch in March… and the upcoming months.

While the Albuquerque Bullsnakes, an American Basketball Association team, won’t start their inaugural season until November, they are doing exhibitions for the next couple of months.
