UPDATE: The University of New Mexico baseball team has postponed the remainder of the Air Force Falcons series this weekend after news of the passing of Jackson Weller. The Albuquerque Journal reported that Weller was shot early Saturday morning and pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
Class of 2019 Antwan January announced his signing with the University of New Mexico on Wednesday night. This was a quick turnaround from his original plan, but Lobo fans are definitely not complaining about the strong new addition to the roster.

Junior right-hander Justin Slaten was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week. He is the second Lobo pitcher to receive this honor, and the fifth overall New Mexico player to get an honor from the conference.
During Saturday’s game against Fresno State, Slaten pitched for seven innings and allowed just one unearned run while scattering four hits.

The University of New Mexico football team could soon be represented in the National Football Association by three more players: D’Angelo Ross, Jalin Burrell and Delane Hart-Johnson.
They will be joining Byron Bell (free agent most recently with the Green Bay Packers), Glover Quin (free agent most recently with the Detroits Lions), Corey Bojorquez (Buffalo Bills) and Jason Sanders (Miami Dolphins). Continue reading “Three Lobos get a shot at the NFL”
For the seventh time in school history, the University of New Mexico men’s golf team took home the Mountain West Championship trophy. The Lobos have automatically qualified for the NCAA Regional Tournament, which goes from May 13-15.
